Goodbye; My Very Good Friend and Brother! Sheikh Seif Al Harrasi!

Goodbye My Very Good Friend; Sheikh Seif!

Sheikh Seif Salim Issa Al Harrasi!

Friday March 22, 2019

Normally at around 10 pm each night, I simply switch off my phone from Sound to Just Silence as I usually get disturbed a lot by phone calls from my Books Publishers in USA and Amazon – as for them it is still working hours! Sometimes the calls come from Singapore and UK also more!

It is very disturbing when the phone rings and you have an Oxygen Mask on to get your sleep! I was about to do that again for this night when several WhatsApp messages started to come in my mobile phone saying that my very good friend and brother Sheikh Seif Salim Issa Al Harrasi had passed away whilst undergoing Medical Treatment in UK.

It was last September 2018 when I had met Marehem Sheikh Seif Al Harrasi at Muscat International Airport as we were in the same flight to go to Zanzibar! He was very much perturbed, concerned and disturbed to see me in a wheel chair – as being handled for my flight trip – as I could not climb the steps of the plane in boarding! What happened to you Dear Sheikh Majid – he lamented!

So we got talking about the good days in PDO and as I was explaining to him about my holidays trip to Zanzibar with Madam Wife! He asked me which hotel I had booked into because as usual hospitable kind person that he always was – he wanted to invite me for a few days stay in his villa in Bweni I think!

I remarked to him that he looked sort of worried and sickly – and he calmly told me we shall talk afterwards my good friend! It was only later in the plane we were in Business Class and he was in Economy that I dared to joke with him ‘to spend some more money to enjoy’ joke! He handled the slur very well with his great sense of mirth fun and joke saying why should he and ‘you do need the bigger seat’ in Business Class – whilst I do not!

Another person who does not have his traits and senses of humour could have put me in my place – but he was an exceptional human being first class high profile person the world is proud to have in a human being! One time he called me and I was not sure who he was and he was suggesting to me a business contact when my Management Consultancy MMDC was operating! Yes that is another trait of his to assist and help other unasked unassisted! So he repeated a nickname that would have identified him – joking – Guess that will make you happier – and remember who I was!

I asked for his apology but he just pushed the subject away – what is a joke and tease amongst brothers and friends! I noticed him only once when I was in HR when an Expatriate was misbehaving in his Department – and even here he was more remedial corrective rather than accusing and abusing!

A few days in Zanzibar, he had sent me a WhatsApp message saying he was returning to Oman because he was very sick! He wished me well and to enjoy my holidays and try to be careful on certain issues and things that many visiting the islands are not aware of – and we become naïve and trusting and we think we know everything and do not need to be told or to be reminded of!

In Zanzibar he had built a nice beautiful villa at the coastline – and he had appeared in The Oman Ramadhan Television Programmes a few years ago – where he featured centrally and immensely – explaining the beautiful historical relationships between Oman and Zanzibar!

I am sure that there are many also in Zanzibar who will be crying a lot today on hearing his death – his deep ties and commitment to help and assist those lesser advantaged – especially by his kindness and generosity to the local populace! Especially in Religious Affairs and in The Holy Month of Fasting of Ramadhan! Pray that his kin will continue with his good works In Shaa Allah Yaa Rabbi!

A Great Man Has Come – And Now He Is Gone! But we will always remember and pray for you – Our Very Good Friend and Brother!

May Allah SWT Remove The Punishment of The Grave for you – May Allah SWT Open The Highest Heavens of Firdaus For You – May you rest in eternal peace in this world and the next Ameen! May Allah Give Sabrah Patience and Imaan to your Family Ameen!

Till we meet again In Shaa Allah – Goodbye My Brother and Best Friend!

Why do they call you ‘Magic’?

Why do they call you Magic?

January 18th 2019

A

When I was studying in UK in the 1970s, there were some British girls in my class! They found it strange that I was not following them like the other foreign students in my class! It had nothing to do with British girls or not, but I was always a Loner and keeping to myself alone!

You can feel hungry always, and look at the Menu! But ordering the food can be something quite different! You can also see smell the food – but partaking it can be quite something different! Excuse the pun – and the rhetoric here!

Anyway, the braver of the girls (and the more forward! Sic!) asked me lots of curious strange questions – like how many oil wells your family owned? Or how many wives your father had? And even the brazen one – how many wives you had? As if I was already married for that matter! But the more smarter ones for sure were those who noticed I did not wear any rings – and probably, therefore, a good catch!

There were some for sure who thought I was weird – and something fishy and weird for that matter! Thank God that some dared not ask me what was in their minds – because I would not have known what answer to give – or how I would have reacted to such probing intrusive personal questions!

So the conversation and questioning went on something like this!

Let us call her Amanda – actually there was a girl by that name – and she was really pretty tall and all the ‘catching stuff’ per se!

Amanda – Hi! What is your name?
Me (sigh) – Majid!
Amanda – What???
Me – Majid – Spell – M A J I D!
Amanda – What??? Oh! What does the name mean?
Me – It means Glory in English!
Amanda – Oh! So you are Glory? You do not look like one! Sorry!
Me – (Quiet) – I was about to give a crude reply like – call me whatever name you like stuff! Sort of think! Sic!
Amanda – You know what? Cannot comprehend that name! Difficult! What else can we call you?
Me – (Quiet!)
Amanda – now joined with the other girls! You know what? We shall just call you Magic!

Magic it had always remained – till the last day of the College!

End.

Now you know why I ended as Magic! Magic it has always been – at lease nearer to Majid than any other English word to my name!

(* Apologies to those who had thought perhaps deeper more sinister meaning of Magic than the crystal clearer one above!)

* Magic Man was also used!

****

B           My paternal grandmother – Seyyida Saluma bin Ahmed Al Wadhahiya!

I always used to ask my late Father Sheikh Said – PBUH Allah Rahmah – how he felt when his Mother – my paternal grandmother – was married to someone else after asking for her divorce – when my Grandfather Sheikh Nasser Zahor Al Suleimany – Manah – Nizwa – PNUH Allah Rahmah – went to Africa from Oman – staying there for too long whilst he married other women – leaving grandmother alone for a long time!

The great lady got only one other son – my Ami Uncle Sheikh Ahmed Salim Al Wadhahy (still living!)
So I used to ask my Later Father Allah Rahmah – when he was alive – how do you feel about your only brother – Mother side?

He looks at me weirdly – but avoids telling me what is really in his mind – till one day in his better moods tells me – I do not blame my Mother – but more my Mother!

****

C          ** My Maternal Grandfather – Sheikh Hamed Zahor Al Suleimany!

Full story in my Book Psychology of Arab Management Thinking!
But briefly – my Mother had also only one brother from her Father side this time!
Poor man – ** he never married again after my mother – but my grandmother surely did!

****

Frankly, I like both – but B more compared to C!

So in short we are such a unique family – at least you can call us as that!

After Compliments & Dear All;

The 55th Anniversary of The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution!

Celebrating the First Murderous Ethnic Cleansing in Africa!

Against a duly elected Government under the so-called British Colonialists Protectors!

The Bloody Massacres of Fellow (Arab Asians) Muslims by Africans mainly supported by (few) Christian as led and behind the scene supporters – both local and external including Zionists and Western – and others!

So sad and tragic!

********************

Today 12th January, 2019  is the 55th Anniversary of the Bloody Zanzibar Revolution that saw the massacres of mainly Omani Arab Asians in Zanzibar and the violent overthrow of duly elected establishment by democratic election means – even if there were gross mistakes and miscalculations by that Government during its short period of existence!

Writing The Book!

I am on my way writing my 56th Book entitled Return To Lost Paradise! This is after my recent visit to Zanzibar in August 2018 and my only second visit after The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution of January 12 1964!

The Later Part of The Book will be about The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution – its impacts, consequences and The Aftermath – and my Observations from my visit and what I saw in Zanzibar inter alia the following –

• The Zanzibari (African/Muslim) Taxi Driver showing us an area saying to us – This is where the Arabs Live now – an area where Arabs (Omanis) have come back to build new villas and many staying there after Retirement and or Businesses Closures! He has just forgotten that his passengers were Arabs (Omanis) in his emotions showing you the place!
• The Hotel Staff – mainly Christian Mainlanders – who can be ‘friendly normal people’ because you respect them and perhaps some may say cynically ‘because you tipped them right!’
• Some of the Zanzibaris Africans admitting ‘they survive on handouts from the same people we killed in 1964 – who now make our lives more easier and comfortable – especially during the Holy Month of Ramadhan Fasting!
• Arabs who have contributed to The Development and Expansion of Zanzibar – like the Hotel Verde Resort – The Bakhressa Group of Companies!
• Omani Entrepreneurs doing preferred business in Zanzibar despite all odds – like incompetence, maladministration, bribery. Corruption, lack of trust and faith – and the likes!
• Despite The President Orders – people still ask for tips – not only insinuate – but actual ask – including The Traffic Cop – who asked me – Are we going to talk or not?
I value my life and freedom – so Í talked’- the first time in my life anyway to a person in uniform! I have seen videos of repercussions – and did not want to make myself a victim of Viral Video!
• Army Practising (New Recruits) harassing an Arab Lady who took photograph of them in practise – but were smiling cheerful to Europeans Ladies – even trying to look pretty on the pictures!
• That is the same way as it is said – The British et al did not Protect The Rest of us at and during The Bloody Revolution! The First Ethnic Cleansing in Africa!
• The Visiting so many Arab Delegations from Oman and Other Countries!
• Those so-called Arab Socialists – Comrades – Communist Socialism Sympathisers who all went to live abroad – especially in UK – the same place that The Zanzibar Ruler now also lives – what a coincidence! Or Karma does work?
• Taking a theme focus outlook to try to repair modify adjust etc. based on Nelson Mandela’s South African Reconciliation between Africans and Whites!
• Majority of Zanzibar peoples are Muslims – and to bring in people together as Muslims – and to look forward in The Future – rather than The Past – where mistakes lay on both sides – and stemming from My Book – Psychology of Arab Management Thinking! – which won The USA Gold Seal of Literary Excellence USA Review of Books – Amazon USA.
• Arabs building Masjids and Islamic Quran Learning Centres – despite some even whose families were killed, harassed etc. in The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution!

Zanzibar Hospitality sector being dominated by mainly Mainlanders and Christian – fewer Zanzibar grown!

Backpack (White) Tourists after Zanzibar men (including Masai – I saw even a Masai women in a possible three tie-up!

Housemaids etc. being appointed for the jobs in Oman GCC in the very same stock houses that were killed in cold blood!

The eBook – Revolution in Zanzibar – by John Okello!

As I had always thought the Africans and not even The Comrades alone planned the bloody Revolution but greater forces at play of our so called British Protectors but more some hidden elements who led behind the scene all the toppling of a legitimate government even if badly managed and focussed.

The book reveals it very clearly .. QED

I stopped reading the book at page 119 when he damns indicts himself by saying

I felt that many of the Zanzibar Africans could not be trusted since they were strongly connected with, and even related to the Arabs on the island and might well be spies and preparing to reveal our plans in order to get permission from the Arab Commanding Officers.

He then authorises to KILL ALL ARABS from age 18 to 55

In the end All Arabs sighted were killed … and women rapped ..killed with their babies born or still not born

He prophesies what will happen to him after the Revolution … but sadly he did not do so when he joked to Iddi Amin consorts that Uganda had now two Field Marshalls … his own epitaph of the lies he webs!

Anyway let the Zanzibari people wake up to the realities of the first ethnic cleansing in Africa .. the massacres and cold blooded killings?

Was the Revolution a success? Certainly not now with CUF and the desire to secede and to separate.

And disenchantments and disfranchisements even amongst the Strongest Supporters – internally and externally – and even behind the scenes to this very day!

Added Note!

The Western Media were more apologetic thinking it will curb Arabism and Islamic influence – it ended with the country turning extreme Socialist (Communist!) under a so-called Christian Catholic President (Union) – and the visit of Chou En Lai The Chinese Communist Regime leader to the islands – and Cubans and Che Guevara!

The LOSERS were everyone – including behind the scenes supporters of violent overthrow of a democratically elected Government under the so-called British Protectorate! And constitutional Sultan being Arab! So sad and tragic!

Why A Cry For Help! Book Was Written?

A Cry For Help! Book!

Why was the book written?

I wrote on these issues from even March 2003 in my columns Between Us Only! in The Oman Daily Observer!

My Second Arab Management Book published in August 2009 was even titled A Cry For Help!

See Books Link –

A Cry For Help! Book Review – The Oman Daily Observer!

More at http://www.myownmajid.com

A few days back, I was at this social gathering party and next to me was seated this Omani Elderly Man. He was eating by his hands .. whilst I was using a fork and knife.!

As normal, the fork being on my left hand he raised a strong comment to me for using the fork and knife – specifically telling me that the food you are putting in your mouth is – HARAAM FOOD!

That is not Halal Food Kosher .. Illegal Forbidden!

I do not even know the person – but his outlooks and focus was it was okay to invade my space and privacy as he felt it right in doing so! Being so forward and confronting! So patronising!

Even if in a way he could be right but there are better ways and styles to communicate your ideas .. to a person that you hardly know!

My upbringing culture and heritage of respecting people older to me kicked in .. and to ‘make peace’ – I decided to use only the fork with my Right Hand!

That was still not enough to him by his continued stare – which was very embarrassing to me!
Because I was now using a sharp pointed tool to put food in my mouth.

My host who was seated next to me tried to intervene and calm things .. but the person was not to be calmed down!

I was tempted to put him in his place but resisted the temptation. He wanted me to be like him – to use my hands to eat the food!

There were many Omanis there too who were using their hands to eat the food like him – with exception of a few like me using fork and knife to eat the food!

I have no issues to use my hands – but usually in Social places I tend to use fork and knife!

He still made some illogical unkempt untoward words – which I had just ignored him – turning to my host in talking!

There are so many elements now especially the so-called New Born Muslims who are increasingly intolerant critical and extreme in outlooks and focuses – which are not wanted or good things in the Society now!

I believe always in being tolerant and live and let live!

We see now increasing criticisms of Christmas and the related functions – things that were not there before!

Book Writing? QED!

Allah Protect and Preserve us all Ameen! Amen!

Trials of Life – Do Not Give Up!

Trials of Life! Do Not Give Up!

My Late Mother PBUH and My Father PBUH Dream!

My Most Vivid Dream!

Asalaam Aleikum!

Yesterday I had a very tearful crying weepy dream of my late Father and Mother Allah Rahimuun!

Before the Zanzibar Bloody Revolution 12 January 1964 I was chosen to go to Form 1 Standard Nine in King George The Sixth 6 Secondary School in Zanzibar! The announcement was made on Friday January 10 1964 – and 2 days later The First African Ethnic Cleansing Bloody Revolution came!

My name was removed because they thought I was Royal Family because my number was 102 and I just used Majid Said as my name!

Later on in March I returned to Mafia Island Chole Tanzania to my old school Aga Khan School where I had to repeat Class 8 because Tanganyika did not recognise I had passed on to Secondary School in Zanzibar.
My Headmaster P S Rangar Singh told me he had tried hard but can only be alllowed to repeat Class 8 despite syllabus being different to Zanzibar.

I was reluctant to repeat Class 8 but in the end had to just give up!

On the day I went back to class 8 – I had cried very much and my heart was broken! My Mother Allah Rahmah hugged me crying with me!had  I was surprised that even my Father cried too in his own way!

Next day I started to repeat my class 8 in Mafia. Al Hamdu Lillah with flying colours – I had passed my Final Exams and went to Form 1 in Dar es Salaam – Commercial Capital of Tanzania!

The rest is history!

Yesterday night Subhanna Allah was Repeat Scene of that night of my crying!

I do not know what dreams really mean – but just to say Al Hamdu Lillah!

Badilisha Maisha – Jifikiriye na Kuwa Binafsi Badala Yake!

Translated from English – Be Selfish For A Change! Swahili!

December 15, 2018!

Kumbuka haya siku zote!

Unaonesha kuwa ni mtu anayejaali watu wengi sana – na hata kujiuumiza na kujidhuru nafsi yako!
Hawa watu hawastaahili kufikiriwa hivi na wewe kuanzia sasa!

Be Selfish For A Change!

Be Selfish For A Change!

December 15, 2018

A long time ago when I had an operation in Royal Hospital – and maybe post operations depression and trauma – I was crying profusely !

This nice Omani Lady Doctor asked me what is your problem .. why are you a Senior Person by age crying? You just had come out from a major operation .. it is harmful and not good for you!

So I told her .. it is now 5.30 pm and only half an hour left for Visiting time .. and no one had yet come to visit me for this day .. despite my operation was only yesterday!

She cautioned me and told me – Be like this!
Now in your life –

First is – Majid
Second is – Majid
Third is – Majid
Fourth is – Majid

Fifth – Is your Direct Family .. Wife and Children of your own!

The rest in your life can make their own fore line queue .. Be less bothered about them .. they came or did not come!

Be Selfish for a Change – Just Care Only For Yourself!

You seem to care for a lot of people – who do not deserve your care and attention!

Pangaas – The Pufferfish Man!

Pangaas – The Pufferfish!

Bunju – In Swahili!

November 18th 2018.

Most of us have do nicknames – some of us know what others call us straight into our faces – or in some cases – behind our backs!

I have been nicknamed as Magic or Magic Man – but that is a different story for now – with the exception that it was first the English girls whilst studying in UK in the 1970s could not pronounce my first name as Majid! They resorted to the easier name to remember as Magic – and eventually developed into Magic Man etc.

It took a twisted turn later why I was so called – but that too is a different story for now!

It is also a pseudonym and pen name that I had used when in The Old Frustration Days I used it in The Public Forums! But with what I wrote – soon people recognised who I was really!
Few people also know that I was called Pangaas by my Baluchi Speaking Compatriots and Peers! The word should not be confused with the Swahili version – which means Big Knife! It is the Baluchis peers who called me this – not The Swahili Speaking ones!

Anyway, as far as I understand it still – Pangaas was a reference to The Pufferfish! See about the fish below!
Why did they call me this? Simple – as they said! Apart from the fish can turn cyanide and venomous when being attacked by predators – including men – but the real reason was the fish would blow up into a balloon shaped fish at the slightest touch provocation!

They told me – That is you Majid! I do not know if they are right or not – but the name stuck to this very day!

I know many people think I am very sensitive – and that even includes my family too! My British Boss used to tell me – you need thick skin (ears) to work in this place – but you Majid are very Soft Centred – and it is easy for people to annoy and upset you – for what many people would consider minor trifles – best to ignore! It also comes from your desire for always a win-win situation!

Anyway, thought I shall just pass this across – for now!

Pangaas – Majid Al Suleimany!

November 18th 2018.

Happy National Day 48th Anniversary!

Biologists think pufferfish, also known as blowfish, developed their famous “inflatability” because their slow, somewhat clumsy swimming style makes them vulnerable to predators. In lieu of escape, pufferfish use their highly elastic stomachs and the ability to quickly ingest huge amounts of water (and even air when necessary) to turn themselves into a virtually inedible ball several times their normal size. Some species also have spines on their skin to make them even less palatable.
Toxicity

A predator that manages to snag a puffer before it inflates won’t feel lucky for long. Almost all pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, a substance that makes them foul tasting and often lethal to fish. To humans, tetrodotoxin is deadly, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote.

As Food

Amazingly, the meat of some pufferfish is considered a delicacy. Called fugu in Japan, it is extremely expensive and only prepared by trained, licensed chefs who know that one bad cut means almost certain death for a customer. In fact, many such deaths occur annually.

Population

There are more than 120 species of pufferfish worldwide. Most are found in tropical and subtropical ocean waters, but some species live in brackish and even fresh water. They have long, tapered bodies with bulbous heads. Some wear wild markings and colors to advertise their toxicity, while others have more muted or cryptic coloring to blend in with their environment.

They range in size from the 1-inch-long dwarf or pygmy puffer to the freshwater giant puffer, which can grow to more than 2 feet in length. They are scaleless fish and usually have rough to spiky skin. All have four teeth that are fused together into a beak-like form.

Diet

The diet of the pufferfish includes mostly invertebrates and algae. Large specimens will even crack open and eat clams, mussels, and shellfish with their hard beaks. Poisonous puffers are believed to synthesize their deadly toxin from the bacteria in the animals they eat.

Threats to Survival

Some species of pufferfish are considered vulnerable due to pollution, habitat loss, and overfishing, but most populations are considered stable.

Masjid Istiqamah (Masjid JoJo) Official Opening For November 23, 2018!

Breaking News!

Message on Masjid Istiqamah – Masjid JoJo Official Opening!

November 17th 2018

The Village Elders have named Masjid JoJo as now Masjid Istiqamah!

Al Hamdu Lillah!

Scheduled on November 23, 2018 at JoJo place in Mafia Island Tanzania.

Meaning of Istiqamah

The 21st hadith in Imam an-Nawawi’s collection (read here) deals with the subject of istiqamah (steadfastness). This is a very important topic especially when we consider the many tests and trials that we as an ummah are currently facing. It is of utmost importance that we not only understand the concept of istiqamah, but we strive to attain it.

Say ‘I Believe in Allah’

This is not just a single statement, rather it encompasses Islam as a whole. Belief in Allah is not just belief in the heart, but it is also words and actions. The Prophet also shows us that istiqamah comes only after we start to practice our faith.

What is Istiqamah?

The word istiqamah (from the root qaama) means to go straight into the right direction, acting rightly, allowing no deviation. It is from the same root that the word mustaqeem is derived (i.e. sirat al-mustaqeem – the straight path). It can be translated as ‘steadfastness’.

Allah SWT Says:

فَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ وَمَن تَابَ مَعَكَ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا ۚ إِنَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

So stand you (O Muhammad) firm and straight as you are commanded and those who turn in repentance with you, and transgress not. Verily, He is All-Seer of what you do. [Surat Hud, 12:112]

Ibn Abbas said that no other verse from the entire Qur’an was revealed upon the Messenger that was harder upon him than this verse. It was due to this verse that the Prophet said : “Surat Hud and its companions have made my hair white” Why was this? Because istiqamah is very difficult to attain. The scholars said that istiqamah is the hardest thing to hold on to.

The Companions on the Meaning of Istiqamah

Abu Bakr when asked about the meaning of istiqamah, replied: “That you do not associate partners with Allah.

Umar ibn al-Khattab said: “It is that you should be steadfast on the matters that are obligated , and to abandon the prohibitions.”

Uthman ibn Affan said: “ To have Ikhlas (sincerity) to Allah only in doing actions .”

Ibn Abbas said: “It means to fulfill your duties to Allah.”

How to Remain Steadfast

• Keep the company of good people. (Man is on the Deen of his friends)
• Keep connected to the Qur’an, through its recital, study and implementation.
• Reflect and question yourself daily. E.g. are you headed the right way? Are your intentions sincere?
• Learn to take advice from others.
May Allah grant us all steadfastness and firmness upon the Deen (Ameen Ya Raab!)

Omani Youngsters Educated In Right Disciplines But No Jobs Yet!

Omani Youngsters Educated In Right Disciplines But No Jobs Yet!

Looking For A Job? No Jobs For Qualified Omani Youth even in Jobs dominated by Expatriates like Accountancy and even imagine IT!

Looking For A Job? But No Jobs!

Omani Youngsters Qualified but still with No Jobs! Some over 2 years now!

Forgive me but I need someone to explain this to me! I know of a Relative (nephew!) who has BSc in IT he was educated in Malaysia and Degree is British! I know of two girls (my daughters!) who tried to go into business to be Self Employed – only to end in Failure and Bankruptcy!

One was an Accountant in a National Bank here in Oman – Dealing with Credit Cards – The Other also as an Accountant worked for years in a National Telecoms Company in Oman! Both have Degrees in Business Studies (Accountancy)!

I left as a Management Consultant since 2011 – 7 years ago! Maybe I am out of circulation and knowledge of recent events – but I never thought I was going to say this – but both these two sectors of IT and Accounts are dominated by Expatriates – sadly to say Our Own Indian Brothers and Sisters here in Oman!

Are we Really Serious or Teasing & Joking! Yet you find BIG Companies sponsoring Omanis for Welding Crafts jobs – but nothing in the Middle or Higher Up – I mean Not Only Education but Job-Wise too! They are always here in LinkedIn!

What is really going on?? Can anyone explain this to me! We are tired here of always people boasting on their achievements making the rest of us feel insignificant – and too much Rhetoric Media Coverage – when The Reality and Truth Is Completely Different!

There is a cinder fire burning intensely underneath before – God Forbid – it Explodes!

My sincere genuine apologies! http://www.mymajid.blog

Going To Zanzibar (Tanzania) For The First Time? Be Careful!

Going To Zanzibar (Tanzania) For The First Time? Be Careful!

Zanzibar is a beautiful place! It has got great historical and geographical relationships with Oman. It is the place that I was born! So was My Late Mother Bi. Jokha Hamed Zahor Al Sulaimaniya – Allah Rahmah! My Late Father Sheikh Said bin Nasser Zahor Al Sulaimani – Allah Rahmah – was born in Oman! He first time went to Africa in his twenties with late Elder Mother, Late Brother and Late Sister – Allah Rahimuun!

This is an Email I wrote back to an Italian Lady Owner of Paje By Night Hotel – we stayed only 3 nights – and moved to Hotel Resort Verde (Bakhressa) Zanzibar for the rest of our stay in Zanzibar. See my previous Media Postings!

This Note is especially addressed to Omani Arab Visitors – even those from Zanzibar going back for the first time – or after a long time! PLEASE BE CAREFUL! It takes all kinds to make this world – some it is better you had never met ever before – all based on lack of trusting – and scheming customers – specially targeted are the above mentioned! It may look harmless on the surface – but by misfortune or inadvertently can turn to be deadly disastrous and harmful – even endangering your lives! It is Not Wolf Calling – IT IS REAL!

*******

THE EMAIL

Dear Claudia;

Thank you for The Hospitality and The Nice Friendly Polite Helpful yourself and The Staff! This is Majid Al Suleimany from Oman. I hope you remember me – The Largely Built Omani Guest!! 😊

As I promised you in my call to you after leaving – please check out these Individuals. Lest there is a ring and unsuspecting gullible travellers get caught up in their ring of deceit and games! My gut feelings are they are concentrating on Omani Travellers or Arabs or Muslims more – and especially target are Omanis originated from Zanzibar Tanzania etc! More those who can speak Swahili – or just from Oman Arab countries!

Common Name XYZ – Nick name RST  – he sent me messages saying he is Manager of Paje By Night and Paje Hotel Jibrin. I do not know how he got my Omani numbers – but I remember calling you before we came asking about Meet and Greet at Zanzibar Airport.

There is a LEAK in your Offices or The people you deal with meeting guests at The Airport – guess could be seaport too! Or in Both Places!

Incidentally, he did arrange for the transport for us and did pick us up at The Airport! His Assistant also named Common Name XYZ carried our name at the exit. We trusted him with ourselves and our goods – Imagine a Trusting Tired Gullible Unsuspecting Passenger!

They charged us 120,000 Tanz Shs for the pick up. Understood to be on a very high end for just a pick up from The Airport! He picked us up two more times for showing us around – say mostly 2 hours per day two times. We paid him The Driver 340.000 Tanz Shs and naïve of me gave him also 50,000 Tip. Before that he took us to show his family in Paje! More money came out from us!

The Ingrate looked unhappy – maybe he expected more. Mr. The Manager made a point to want to see us at Paje AFTER THIS REPEAT AFTER THIS!  Maybe they were looking for more money to fleece us?☹

We told him we had already left Zanzibar for Dar es Salaam! ☹

Mr. Manager (nickname) is on This Zanzibar Number

WhatsUp Zanzibar Number

The Driver – This Zanzibar Number

Silly of us not to Record the car number but I Think is a Toyota ??? MPV

Their concentration – my gut feelings – is SCHEMEING FOR HIGHER TAXI RATES FROM GULLIBLE NAIVE UNSUSPECTING VISITORS. Especially Omanis with links to Zanzibar – Others and maybe even Arabs too!

The Driver looked very hospitable and friendly – until he exposed himself in his true feelings about WAAARAABU – Arabs that is! He had bad thoughts on Arabs – stupid of him forgetting who we were in his taxi!

We thought these things were PAST US Now – but The Remnants are there still on!

We WILL NOT ADVISE ANY of Our Friends and Relatives to Visit Zanzibar – and or if they do TO BE EXTRA CAREFUL of The Fronts!

Especially for arranging taxis for pickups!

Everybody is in a Bad State – so Many Sob Stories!

You never know where they may drive you – or you meet any mishap on the ways! Especially if you are going to Zanzibar after a very long time! They are capable of anything – be prepared for the worst when it comes to money! See My Posting on Masjid JoJo – it is a Relative doing these things to us!

Because of the hardships – people have lost Imaan Taqwa and Good Faith! So Sad!

My Sincere genuine apologies.

Suspension of Masjid JoJo Project in Mafia Island – Tanzania!

Suspension of Masjid JoJo Project in Mafia Island – Tanzania!

The Project has now been suspended! These days you cannot trust anyone in life – let alone even Family, Relatives and Friends! Even in aspects Holier Like Masjid Buildings!

One month back I was told pending items were windows and doors. I sent payment for the items! Two Days back the items again reappeared in Things To Be Done – Before The Masjid can be Formally Opened! This time two million Tanzanian Shillings have been added up to The Amount! Repeat and Repeat of the same scenario!

I always wondered why people were reluctant to contribute to Masjid Buildings – especially sadly and tragically to places like Mafia and others! Why? DONOR FATIGUE – as International Known! Monies sent – but not matching facts on the grounds!

People are NOT AFRAID of EVEN ALLAH SWT God Our Lord Almighty! Masjids are No Exception even!

Even if you will meet Hell Fire starting in your Grave First!

So I Point Blank said – Where The Masjid Reached Now – Is The End For Me! I am Afraid of Allah SWT – Making Payments – The same Ones Again – and Again!

So many closed up Masjids – Before Completion! What a waste!

It is very sad and tragic! I looked forward to Finish This Masjid JoJo Project – so Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters can Pray in To Allah SWT – Al Hamdu Lillah!

Hasbiyat Allah Wa Naymat Wa Kyll! La Illah Illah Lah Antuum Subhanah Inniy Kuntuum Mina Al Dhaliiimiiyn!

So sad and tragic!

Remarks!

My wife and I were booked on the above flights to Zanzibar from Muscat return with our National Airline – Oman Air! We were planning to stay in Tanzania till October 23 2018 as per the above details flight information!

I worked in PDO in Employee Services and at that time I controlled on a First Signature only an annual budget of 18 million US Dollars. I was In Charge of all travels of the Company including Business Travel, Training Staff Leave etc. At the time Oman Air was under Gulf Air during my period of work.

Unfortunately, due to my medical condition we had to curtail our trip – and return early to Muscat. We changed the flight to as above details and we got confirmation from Muscat and even Call Centre Oman Air that our changed plans were in order!

When we reached The Oman Air Counter in Zanzibar on 4th September WY 708 – we were told that we could NOT FLY (sic!) because we had not intimated to Oman Air earlier – and Zanzibar nor Dar es Salaam have Oxygen Cylinder – nor does The Flight carry one!

We had a Formal Medical Letter signed by The Royal Hospital in Bowsher. The Sultanate Highest Hospital! An Oman Air part of The Same Sultanate of Oman Apparatus and System – wanted us to bring ANOTHER CERTIFICATION FROM A DOCTOR IN ZANZIBAR – as if The Royal Hospital documents that we travelled with from Muscat to Zanzibar were sort of ‘forged documents’!

If a forgery was to be made the more likely sources would be from where they wanted that the Documents! Even The Zanzibari Doctor (with links to Oman) was amazed bt this request from Oman Air – and he commented – Don’t they trust their own people?? Anyway, it is money for me – so No Problem!

On top of us being humiliated for Not Allowed To Fly – They Oman Air – I do not know if it is Oman or Zanzibar  Offices – or even both? Nothing will surprise me the way Oman Air Treat The Omani People – especially in routes going to Zanzibar etc.

Special Treatment for such Passengers? Even if there is great businesses – and the planes to and fro GO FULL BASIS CAPACITY! Very good business for Oman Air – but So Sad!

Another Point!

Are Airlines Not Required to carry on board Oxygen Cylinders and Other Contigencies as per International Flying Standards as due to cabin pressures even healthy travelling passengers may require Oxygen due to Cabin Pressures?

Still Yet Another Main Point Here!

Oman Air is taking advantages of Omanis preferring to travel direct to Zanzibar etc!
Why does Oman Air fly SMALLER BOEING CRAFTS to Africa? Even the Business Class seats need much to be desired! I have flown flights with Oman Air to Salalah with WIDER Seats even! Do not talk about the toilet! Fat people like us can HARDLY GO IN!

For a long time, I have been hearing complaints about Oman Air from BOTH Staff and Travellers – but I put it to our usual whining on Petty Things concerning our National Institutions – till I learnt it the Hard Way flying Oman Air!

I am a very Nationalistic Patriotic person – main part of the reasons why my Career Life never took off! You can check around about me – even in PDO today!

BUT – Oman Air – I Will Not Fly You Again! This Was My LAST FLIGHT WITH YOU!

DO NOT FLY ME – OH OMAN AIR!!!!

Obituary Bibliography – Late Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al (Maawali) Mauly

Born 80 years ago as on the Birthday 7th December 2016 – DOB 1936 December 7th (Ammended)

Died August 14, 2017

Happy Birthday Sheikh Majid, I wish you all the best and may we celebrate many many more birthdays to come In Shaa Allah – Late Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al Mauly to me on my 69th Birthday June 7th 2017

My Facebook Friend! (He was very active! Always encouraging and supportive!)

Introduction

I was arguing with Big Madam of The House (BMTH) that I have to force myself to go to the funeral in Al Hail Seeb Masjid Bilaal today August 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. of my friend and brother Sheikh Salim Mohamed Al Mauly (Maawali)! She told me rather forcefully – Do not blame anyone else but yourself if you will again fall down – and then cause panic to others to send you to the Hospital!

I have never gone to funerals since the last time that this had happened to me 18 months back! Besides, I do not feel that comfortable to now drive alone – and even if I did – I do not have my Yukon GMC anymore as being taken by the said Court!

You have acute walking difficulties and breathing problems (short breath) on top of being diabetic acute case and in addition to prostate issues – despite the operation made last year! So I stood for sanity and reasons and let my head rule my heart’s emotions for a change!

What I Had Said!

In all my writings and books I have said the same things – that this world is only a temporary phase in our lives – in the end we will all just die! People will only remember you by your good deeds and the way that you interfaced and interacted with each other!

If you were a good person or not are your actions and deeds for others – and your good behaviours and deeds only! People will either feel sorry that you are gone and pray for you – or be indifferent at best – if not cursing you instead and praying for Eternal Hell Fire for you from the moment that you are dropped into your grave – and The Eternal Hell Fire from there on to The Day of Reckoning (Judgement)!

You will go empty handed as you came into the world – and you will not be able to take anything with you! All your richness and properties you will just leave behind! All the pursuits we have in life for richness and luxuries will end the minute you die! What is left are what good deeds only that you have made in life! All those things you have appropriated taken from others by your ways and threats will be The Hell Fire for you in front of Allah SWT Our Lord God The Al Mighty!

The East Africans continuously say  – Where there is Dhuloom (Injustices) Allah Removes all Blessings Barkah Rahmah and Taqwa – especially in taking by force from a person who has nothing left in life – but even that car you are still paying installments for is snatched from you to pay a Bank instead who have money already! And all Those Big People VIPs and Associated you begged and appealed for Help and Assistance – The Chairmans – The MDs – The GMs – The HEs – The HHs The Directors The Leadership looked the other way not caring or bothered the least!

Panapo Dhulmah Daamu Ina Mwagiika Where there is Injustices Dhuloom blood eventually flows in Swahili – and proved correct so many times in life! The Reality Bites!

Late Salim Mohamed Al (Maawali) Mauly

It was 11.30 pm August 14th 2017 Monday that I got this SMS from a very good friend and brother from ex PDO – Brother Ali Al Mandhry – on the death of Sheikh Salim Al Mauly!

****

انا لله وانا اليه راجعون

With great sorrow I would like to inform you that our elder brother Sh. Salim Mohamed Mauly, Ex PDO Head of Public Health, the brother of Yahya Mauly has passed away. May Allah rest his soul in Janat Firdaus.

Sheikh Salim (Red Turban) With Ali Mandhry!

The funeral will be tomorrow morning Tuesday, 15/8/2017 at 10.00’am at Masjid Bilal, Al Hail North (Shamaliya).

Note; On behalf of Brother Yahya and his sons I am sending this message.

 Ali Said Al-Mandhry

 ****

Sheikh Salim and I were the best of friends! He was like an Elder Brother to me respected and adhered by us all in PDO and those who knew him! His words were gentle cautionary and advisory – and would best avoid saying anything confronting bad or adverse about anyone – even if he was alone in the crowd and refusing to criticize and condemn anyone! In actual fact he would try to bring outside the norm or character of something or someone that perhaps we forgot to have a look at – or we needed to look at!

Gentle and unassuming – quiet and respectful – especially to his Staff and Subordinates! He would even try to bend the rules and regulations in helping someone! Especially in need and in trouble! He avoided like hell differentials and polarisation of people – and sometimes even name and shame those of us in HR who should have known better!

At one time I was in a group of people where with my big mouth I was criticising him a certain individual as is The Person who caused The Bloody Zanzibar Revolution. After the group end thing he would sidle to me and politely correct my mistaken knowledge and theories – in actual fact gently reminding me that there was one person there ‘who was the Direct Relative’ of the person I was attacking – and gently remind me that the person had respected me and had remained so quiet instead of personal attacks in defence of his relative as he did to others! The man respects you – so please respect him also instead! That was Sheikh Salim for you!

A typical case that best describes Sheikh Salim is this incident in PDO! Those of us in HR had a Duty Rota for a week where we were responsible for Emergencies and Other Issues after Office Hours – 4 pm each day till next starting day at 7am. The Rota was like this. If the Duty Officer was not available then you move to the next week Duty Week Officer. That was to safeguard the system – and in case of Real Big Emergencies more Officers could be called depending on The Emergencies at task!

It was not my Duty that week but I got a call from an Irate Expatriate Wife (British) that by accident she had reversed her car and had hit her puppy dog! I am writing this also so the present Management PDO can compare and contrast how the Ex Retired Pensioners did their works in comparison to the present – no complaints and beyond the Call for Duty! Far and Beyond! Without complaints! Professional, Ethical and Principled always! With no publicity nor advertisements!

She was very angry that The Duty Officer had bluntly told her – he comes from the current stock type of Staff – work like the book thrown at them – I am not responsible for animals – certainly not knocked down dogs! This is not in my Job Description to look after dogs too!  She was enraged mad more that the man was laughing when she had told him – can you hear the dog in pain – as she was talking to him on the phone!

The man was also cursing why the lady had woken him up at 2 am for a Silly Thing like knocking down a dog! By her own carelessness – even if in those days cars still did not have reverse lights cameras! But what she was More Angry about was this Duty Officer suggesting to her to Go Forward and run down to (finish) to kill it off! How could he tell me this? – she yelled!

She was so offended and had made a case about it later to PDO Management – but it put them into a Sensitive Mode because how do you penalize someone Omani who refuses to get involved in ‘Dog Issues’ knowing how Muslims (Arabs) treat dogs – or at least a majority of them!

Meanwhile, the Lady had complained to The Manager on Duty – who suggested to contact me instead as my role was for next week! Wait a minute! It is not about me – but about Sheikh Salim! He told me that even Medical Department PDO did not have a Vet – so the lady had to find someone else outside! She had tried and failed!

Sheikh Salim had volunteered to help anyway and as it was weekend night it was not easy to get someone. Sheikh Salim had found a Vet and took him to the house and sent the poor puppy still yapping into a ‘quiet sleep mode’! Sheikh Salim and I then received an apology from the Crying Now Lady who had labelled all of us (Omanis) ‘You people’ as cruel and heartless people – because of the way she got treated by The Earlier Officer (Omani also!)

That is Sheikh Salim for you! He did not need to find a Vet late at night – nor take the Vet to The Ladies house – and wait till the puppy had peacefully died. I hope The Senior Management of PDO are reading this – to compare and contrast what you had before – and you are having now!

Frankly, I do not have the knowledge of what can be done now in such typical cases – but my guess is probably nothing has changed much! Maybe even The Lady may not call at all – because she knows well in advance what she will get in turn! Dog or No Dog! Injured or Not Injured!

Here is to you Sheikh Salim! Allah Rest your soul in Eternal Peace in this world and The Next Ameen – and May Allah SWT Open The Gates for Firdaus The Highest Heavens for you! You are a person who cared not only for Humanity – but also for a distressed woman even if the issue was not your business – but you cared for even The Suffering Dog also.

Addressing this also to my ex Peers and all others – I ask Forgiveness for The Past and let us look and pray for each other for whatever is left now in our lives! You have taken my Yukon I used only 2 years – and still paying – but leaving that to Allah SWT when we meet together and in My Presentation of My Case to Allah SWT!

And to those that could have helped me but chose not to lift a finger and look the other way – May Allah SWT and His Prophets RIP PBUT be with you – Amin Amen!

Sheikh Salim with Ali Mandhry and Grandson

Sincerely

 Majid Said Nasser Al Suleimany

I am also a sick Diabetic Person with Eyes Problems and was even in Coma State ICU Royal Hospital. Also suffering from Acute Severe Depression bouts – and being also treated by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Naamani of SQU!

I have only my Pension Retiree Salary and staying in a very old house now only me and my wife left in the house.

There is simply No Money in books as I have been saying all these years!

I tried to send you my first 5 books but I do not know where they had ended?  So were my two letters – one when my Consultancy had gone Bankrupted in 2001!

I feel my Citizen Basic Rights have been infringed as my vehicle they have refused to renew The Mulkiya and it is just parked outside the house.

My Consultancy MMDC collapsed 2001 and only in 2016 they HSBC Oman raised a case against me and truth be said no one had contacted me before.

I tried PDO to help me but they could not! I tried for more than 3 months – only a few days back they said they could not help me!

His Majesty is a Just Ruler with his path to Heavens assured In Shaa Allah by a Special Gate reserved for him.

May Allah Give him long life and health Amin.

Our Religion has so many Chapters on People being in Debt and the mercy and compassion required to be given to them. Even The Hadith.

I feel we should solve our own problems in house rather than go abroad or International Organisations.

I cannot afford to pay this amount unless I become homeless at this old sick age.

Loyal Citizen

Majid bin Said bin Nasser Al Sulaimani

Justice in Islam!

“O My slaves, I have forbidden injustice for Myself and forbade it also for you.  So avoid being unjust to one another.” (Saheeh Muslim)

Thus, justice represents moral rectitude and fairness, since it means things should be where they belong.

 The Importance of Justice!

The Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam, considers justice to be a supreme virtue.

It is a basic objective of Islam to the degree that it stands next in order of priority to belief in God’s exclusive right to worship (Tawheed) and the truth of Muhammad’s (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prophethood.  God declares in the Quran:

“God commands justice and fair dealing…” (Quran 16:90)

Prophet Muhammad underscored the importance of rulers being just in one of his famous sayings.

“There are seven categories of people whom Allah will shelter under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. (One will be) a just leader.” (Saheeh Muslim)

******

Be Merciful for Allah SWT to be Merciful to You!

“He who does not show mercy shall see no mercy (from his Lord).”
“Allah is not merciful to him who is not merciful to men.”

Another one of my favourite hadiths because it teaches us to get up and do something:

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (May Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say,

“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

***

“He who does not show mercy shall see no mercy (from his Lord).”
“Allah is not merciful to him who is not merciful to men.” Quran 2.278

****

O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers. 2.279

And if you do not, then be informed of a war [against you] from Allah and His Messenger. But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged. Quran 2.280

And if someone is in hardship, then [let there be] postponement until [a time of] ease. But if you give [from your right as] charity, then it is better for you, if you only knew.

And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly.

O ye who believe! Be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity: and let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah, Surely Allah is aware of what you do – The Holy Quran – Ch. 5 – V 9

Nothing has changed much in Oman despite all my writings in my columns and books – the columns that ran for more than 15 years before being targeted and killed off in 2013 – on a technicality – but frankly I think more on their designs policing to subdue people speaking The Truth! The games of The Mafias usually run and led by sadly our Indian friends dominating The Media in Oman – and tragically more by our own Omanis – The Old Guards!

The articles in this book are mainly centred on the above aspects as now being denied the public route through my Oman Daily Observer in my columns Between Us Only! and At My Workplace!

I decided to add this book 53 to my series of books – with due apologies to The Reader that the emphasis and concentration in this book was what was happening to me at the time – and to compile the subjects topics under this book 53 – That Is The way It Is!

Prophet Nabii Daud David RA Sura Sad 22 – 26.

  1. We made his kingdom strong and gave him Al-Hikmah (Prophethood, etc.) and sound judgement in speech and decision.21. And has the news of the litigants reached you? When they climbed over the wall into (his) Mihrab (a praying place or a private room,).22. When they entered in upon Dawud (David), he was terrified of them, they said: “Fear not! (We are) two litigants, one of whom has wronged the other, therefore judge between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, and guide us to the Right Way.23. Verily, this my brother (in religion) has ninety nine ewes, while I have (only) one ewe, and he says: “Hand it over to me, and he overpowered me in speech.”24. [Dawud (David)] said (immediately without listening to the opponent): “He has wronged you in demanding your ewe in addition to his ewes. And, verily, many partners oppress one another, except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and they are few.” And Dawud (David) guessed that We have tried him and he sought Forgiveness of his Lord, and he fell down prostrate and turned (to Allah) in repentance.25. So We forgave him that, and verily, for him is a near access to Us, and a good place of (final) return (Paradise).26. O Dawud (David)! Verily! We have placed you as a successor on earth, so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire for it will mislead you from the Path of Allah. Verily! Those who wander astray from the Path of Allah (shall) have a severe torment, because they forgot the Day of Reckoning.Surah Sad – Nabii Daud RA The Holy Quran

About The Book!

This book 53nd is The Sequel to my earlier 52 books to date!

After my last book, I was admitted in Royal Hospital for a Prostate operation that ended me falling into a coma state in ICU – Intensive Care Unit – EER – for almost a month! See B – The Prophet’s Dream!

The book ontains all the articles and topics that I had posted in My Websites Blogs and The Social Media since the 52nd book.

The book can also stand on its own to describe all my 52 books to date! 6 books on Arab Management, 3 on Road Safety, 6 on My Autobiography (The Story of My Life!) – 12 on my Columns Writings ‘Between Us Only!’ and ‘At My Workplace!’ and the rest on assorted topics!

  • It is hard to beat a person who never gives up! – Babe Ruth
  • Writing is the only profession where no one considers you ridiculous if you make no money! – Jules Renard

The book is a bird’s eye view on all about all my books and from all my varied articles to date! The books produced here are in main part linked to me as Majid aka as Magic – Magic Man as the pseudonym I used in ‘The Forums’! Also interestingly the article – Why Do They Call You Magic? Also Who Is Majid? And My Epitaph! The articles are also about My Family and My Late Parents – Peace Be Upon Them!

I hope you will like reading about me!

People were always asking me – Why don’t you write a book about yourself and all your books as at one stop centre? The story of your life? All about your books! So people can remember you and your works – and as a Memory and Record for all your works to date!

I then decided to accept the challenge and write this book. Like the other books – I have tried to be as factual as possible – and with my usual style of writing of speaking to you directly from my heart – and to be as sincere, genuine, frank, forthright as possible – so that this book can not only be used in Research works – but as a Guide and Beacon for the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren – and future generations by the Grace of Allah God – Ameen Amen.

Being Thankful For In Life!

Being Thankful In Life!

What are you Thankful for in Life?

Thanksgiving DayThanks for the Blessings!

https://majidall.com/2016/11/25/what-are-you-thankful-for-in-life/

 Being Thankful In Life!

What are you Thankful for in Life!

A         Thanksgiving Day! Thanks for the Blessings!

It is a national holiday celebrated in  Canada and the  United States on the fourth Thursday of November. This time it fell on November 24 2016.

It was originally celebrated as a day of giving thanks by Native Americans for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. The Pilgrims copied it and made it as their own!

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November  in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions, it has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well.

Setting aside time to give thanks for one’s blessings, along with holding feasts to celebrate a harvest, are both practices that long predate the European settlement of North America.

The event that Americans commonly call the “First Thanksgiving” was celebrated by the Pilgrims  after their first harvest in the New World in October 1621. This feast lasted three days, and—as accounted by attendee Edward Winslow  — it was attended by 90  Native Red Indians Americans and 53 Pilgrims. The New England colonists were accustomed to regularly celebrating “Thanksgivings” — days of prayers thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought.

B         Being Thankful In Life!

If you ask me – and truthfully, honestly, frankly and sincerely, I am thankful for a lot of things in life! Although I would some things now more than ever before – like on my personal life and on my health – I am thankful to have –

  • My family and relatives – my children and the grandchildren!
  • The few friends I have!
  • Being a True Observing Muslim to my best of my abilities and following My Religion as best as I Can!
  • And in trying to be near Allah SWT God Almighty as much as I can!
  • Always respecting people devoid of age, sex, religion, creed, race, ethnicity and religion!
  • A roof over my head even if it is a very old house needing much repairs and renovation!
  • Can now walk on my own without assistance like before!
  • The little things I have – even if I wished for more – but I remind myself that there are others far behind me and who would be ready anytime to change places with me!
  • Getting my Pension Salary regularly from PDO – even though I would have wanted it to be more – because every month struggling to make ends meet – like all people – especially Pensioners now!
  • Living in a peaceful stable secure place – after seeing all the things that are going wrong all around us now!
  • My books I have published – which will keep my name going long after I am gone!
  • And so many other things and aspects!

But truthfully, honestly, frankly and sincerely!  I will not want to change myself with anyone! I am happy I came out as Majid (Arabic for Glory!) that I am now!

If I have my life all over again – I want again to be me! The same and only Majid Said Nasser Al Suleimany! Because I know deep in myself that I do care and feel for people! I am full of understanding, empathy, and kindness and caring!  I do not want to hurt or pain anyway. I am I!

I always try to help people as best as I can – and if I cannot will say so politely kindly and emphatically – but I will not lie or tell lies – or say wrong (unkind) things!

If I have made a mistake or error of judgement – I am ready to forgive and forget! Those who hurt and pain me – whether purposefully or unknowingly inadvertently – I will tell them frankly! I will not keep it bottled in – and suffering in silence! I know this part is what makes me unpopular and being resented by others!

I will not want to change myself to anyone other – even if far Richer, Famous and or Powerful! Majid will be Majid always – under Allah SWT God Almighty Grace and Blessings! Ameen Amen

I try hard to avoid conflict and fights – and after 3 or 4 point outs – and still people after me – I come in charging! Like in a bull! Would I want to change this trait and habit – and suffer in silence? The answer is emphatically NO!

This is Me – and This is what I am! Will be till end of time! Majid will remain as Majid!

C         My Epitaph!

Majid Epitaph (Legacy) – I Want to be Remembered!

A long time ago as a kid, I used to hear people talk about death and how they will go! I always wondered out aloud how I would go – if my turn came up next!

I always prayed that I would go sudden and people surprised he went away that fast! But I never want to cause trouble and inconveniences to others before I die – if I was to choose these things! But it is all in God Allah hands!

Anyway, I had this dream of ‘dying by starvation’ – I do not know what it meant! Was it going to be real as in the dream – or as a metaphor like liking to eat too much and getting fatter by day – and as now being diabetic case?

Or would it be like my late Father PBUH where he wanted food and water but was denied by The Doctors (they were using instead drips!) – because they needed to operate on his stomach – because there was a blockage in his small intestines – and till after the operation could be given food!

Anyway only God Allah SWT Knows these things best!

Sorry for a morbid subject!

Here lies a person who in all his life had acted and stood up for the rights of others – and to whatever extent and even harm and injury and damage to himself personally – and he went down that way!

Always wanting to do good things and help others as much as one could.

If he could not, he would be Truthful and offer instead kind words and support – and or offer advices to his best level always!

Where he could change things himself he did – otherwise he spoke out for Change. Always wanted to be fair, just, professional, principled, correct and ethical in all things he did.

He wants to be remembered that way only!

Please Pray for Him – when they tell you he is gone!

END

We are very lucky in Oman for having our Beloved His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said!

May Allah SWT Our Lord God Almighty Give him long life and health Ameen!

Even though I am a sick and ailing person – and with a lot of other personal problems – I sincerely genuinely and honestly feel –

I look at the News!

Everywhere and all around us and in front of our eyes –

– See people are crying!

– See people are dying!

– Seeing people being victimized, injured and being maimed!

– See all the destruction disasters decadence malaise and decay!

– See mischief being done on land!

– See there is just wars and fights all around!

– See people living as displaced and destitute – both internally and externally!

– See so many other bad things!

Oman – under HM Renaissance – is a land and bastion of peace, harmony, understanding, tolerance and co-existence amongst people – Local, Residents and Visitors and Guests!

Frankly and honestly, I do believe if people had listened or followed his steps to our His Majesty there would have been NO –

No Iraq Saddam invasion of Kuwait!

No Gulf War of any kind as a result!!

No Syria Destruction and Civil War as now!

No Libya Destruction and Civil War as now!!

No Yemen fiascos and war!

No attacks on Yemen!

No Fitnas of any kind!

– Most likely as a result No Daesh or IS syndromes!

– Most likely not even September 11 events!

Indeed initially, we had some initial problems – but under wise leadership of HM – they all went solved and peace and harmony reigned in – Al Hamdu Lillah – Allah Be Praised!

May Allah SWT Our Lord God Almighty Give him long life and health Ameen!

It is immaterial that the case is old and defunct and that it is about a situation facing my Consultancy that went bankrupt 15 years ago in 2001 but still being hunted and being pursued because those involved can do so!

As you might have noticed I have upset and annoyed quite a large number of people by my Truthful Honest Writings in my books and in my Columns … which were killed off anyway 2 years ago after running for 12 years! Some of these people are rich and pwerful and want to draw blood from a stone and put me in my place as unrecognised marginalised diminished and with no status and using full force of the laws against people like us to be put in our place!

You rocked the boat and you washed the dirty linen in public and refused to push the dirt under the carpet!

How long these things will go on with The Old Guards joint with The Mafias carry on? You are a better Judge than me anyway!

My grandaugter came to the house brought by her Father but I had no time for her. She was visibly upset saying Babu Grandfather I want to play with you … and I was so occupied and put her away to go watch cartoons TV in another room.

I talk about Angry Quick pass sentences Judge and here I drive away my daughter without hearing her!

If God Allah Repriminded Prophet Daud David who am I to do exactly what David Daud RA did! Or even The Judge?

I still feel awful to have been a bad not hearing Grandfather. I took Early Retirement after I upset my young daughter shouting at her because she wanted a Compas Box .. she lost one I had bought for her one day before!

I realised then I was a bad man and Father … and it was all pressures of work … because they were making me again to report formally to who was my Assistant and whom I had just promoted myself one year back.

Again to punish because I dared open my mouth and fight for The Youth in Omanisation Recruitment Training and Development. In my own way – there would have been no need for the Panic Button as is now the case!

10 years after Retirement the punishments still come through and I again appeal To Those With Consciences to stop these ugly games trying to find excuses to hurt maim and pain!

I am sorry anyway now … and now more to my Grandaughter Sibel … I have been a Bad Grandfather… but no excuses pressures again.

Sincere Apologies

Majid Al Suleimany

Majid Epitaph (Legacy) – I want to be remembered!

We all have to die one day! Only Allah God is the exception! Jesus Christ Our Great Prophet Issa bin Mariam – will come as The Saviour – and he too will die without exception! So whom I?

Anyway only God Almighty Allah SWT Knows these things best!

A person who was always sincere, genuine and honest – frank, open and forthright who always looked at The Bigger Picture – and never wanted things to go wrong as his main focus and theme in life! Even though many of his efforts were never acknowledged, accepted, recognised and realized – and he became a victim himself in his life, career, and future and with his family too!

He wants to be remembered that way only! Goodbye! Ma Salamaah!

Please Pray for Him – when they tell you he is gone!

Words of Wisdom to Shake (Test) The Heart (Faith) of A Believer!

One of the good people had his Mother die.

When they were sending her Mother for her funeral the man broke out crying deeply and profusely – with his whole body shaking breaking out in deep cries and sobs

People asked him – Why are you crying loud like this?

He replied with heavy words that will make one think deeply!

I am really sad and heartbroken that my Mother has died – the man said!

But what really makes me sadder is that Allah (God) Has now closed for me the one door to Heaven! (Cries more)

Subhanah Allah (God Is Great!)

  • He is crying because he knows now that he will not be able to do any more good deeds for his Mother’s sake!
  • He will not any longer be able to serve his Mother!
  • He will not any longer be able to make his Mother happy!
  • And all these deeds are what will take one to Jannah (Heaven)!

Today a person runs away from one’s parents (does not take care of one’s parents)!

If his parent sends him for an errand he runs away or is annoyed by this!

When his parent asks for a favour or some assistance in money – he is not concerned nor is bothered (pretends or give excuses he cannot help!)

 Remember also please that –

That you are running away from going to Heaven but instead get to go to Hell instead!

Serve your Parent!

Feed Your Parent with your own hands!

Take Care of Your Parent!

Shelter your parent!

Show love attention and care for your parent!

Allah God Our Lord Creator will reciprocate in turn to give you blessings in addition to that from your parents (Ameen Amen).

And for those whose parents are already dead please make regular constant prayers (Dua) for them!

Do not worship anyone except Allah God Almighty!

Allah is the only God for us all!

And look after and do good kind compassionate things to your parents!

And when anyone of them reaches old age and is with you –

Do not reply back or say anything in anger or dismay to them!

Suratul Israa 23.

Talk to them with due patience, kindness care and understanding! Because one day your children will do the same to you what you do to your parents!

Retirees / Pensioners – The Worst Hit Lot in the Economy Now!

Retirement industry: How old do you have to be before you can stop working?

Al Jazeera TV English – September 4, 2016

Very interesting programme which just confirms what I have been saying all along here – about Pensioners Retirees (plus Families Youth still with no job or unemployable still) bearing the worst in current economic status quo – and especially Retirees and Pensioners that are in Big Debt still from loans past even 15 years ago!

It is not only me saying it!)

Quote – Japan, the world’s third-largest economy, has one of the highest number of elderly citizens on the planet.

Over the next 20 years, the number of people over the age of 75 is expected to make up 30 percent of the population. And that is having a big impact on the economy as well as society in general.

Some companies have already taken matters into their own hands and opted for hi-tech solutions to helping people work beyond retirement age.

And Japan is not the only country encouraging people to work beyond retirement age: Finland makes its population work until the age of 68 before they’re able to claim state pension; in Greece, people have to work until 67; and recently, young Germans were told they might have to work until they are 69 years old.

For the past decade, governments across the developing world have been cutting the pension bill by increasing the retirement age; that’s because people are living longer and birth rates are declining.

But how will this affect future generations? How old does one now need to be before they can stop working?

We discuss the pensions crisis around the world with Tom McPhail, head of Pensions Research – Unquote

More Dangerous and Troubled Waters Ahead!

More Dangerous and Troubled Waters Ahead!

The Chilcot Iraq Inquiry report:-

Statement by Sir John Chilcot in full – military action was not a last resort’

‘The UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted.’

 http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/iraq-inquiry-report-statement-by-sir-john-chilcot-full-military-action-was-not-last-resort-1569230

This is what I said in My First Article in my columns in The Oman Daily Observer dated April 23 2003 – 13 years ago – titled – More Dangerous and Troubled Waters Ahead! This after the Iraq invasion. Also reproduced in My Books – see Images below!

*****

The Article – Reproduced Below –

Episode 1.

More Dangerous and Troubled Waters Ahead!

The Chapter aims to describe the different aspects and scenarios of the Gulf war. Compares the different Gulf Wars from a personal perspective and experience and the problems then in his old company on this, and foretells more troubles and dangers ahead (some which had happened and actually materialized later on). Start of the series to be printed in The Oman Daily Observer. Please remember this was written immediately after the Invasion of Iraq!

In the First Gulf war, family members were split between those who supported removing Saddam from Kuwait by force and those who did not the support war option but by ‘talk, persuasion and coercion’ methods.

***

I was expecting to start off this column  (after getting the  ‘green light’ from the esteemed paper) with light hearted and humour laced articles, but then the Iraq war dawned on us, and it took a dramatic turn to write something else on ‘the war’ instead!

Now those of  you who know me well would recall that I am not by profession or even by design a military analyst or military expert, or even a political expert one at that (if you can call being a Human Resources professional as is also involved in sort of  ‘wars’ between Management and Staff, and to draw a ‘thin line’ between getting your next salary payment (if you annoy the Management!) and to see ‘professionalism and ethics are played’ in dealing and in handling with staff problems, issues and grievances!)

However, I do read a lot of newspapers (at least 4 daily including from the UAE).  I watch BBC world, CNN, Euro News etc. and to get the flavour from the other side Al-Jazeera TV, Al-Arabi, MBC, LBC and other Arab channels.  So you may say ‘I am sort of informed’ – especially as I also spend at least 2 hours a day on the Internet – glossing and grouping all the news from different networks.

So please forgive the layman’s views on what he considers ‘his informed opinions and ideas on this war – though I can hear it being said – ‘Those of you who think they know everything, are upsetting those of us who know that we do!’.

First of all, let us draw a comparison of this war (3rd Gulf War) with the 1st one in 1991.

It was in the first week in January 1991 when a great meeting was held in my previous company to vet opinions of senior staff in Human Resources of what were the ‘options’ of the company then, especially vis-à-vis Expatriate Families and their possible urgent evacuations from Oman, especially ‘those families who will want to leave at a hurry!’.

I was the sole voice who said that we should prepare for the war and the contingencies in retrospect. I got on a scare technique to frighten expatriates (or was it I was anti-expatriate?) – and the beating up the war ‘drums’.  On the 17th January, 1991,  I was vindicated, as the great Company had to go on a ‘panic run’ when expatriate families wanted to leave out on the next quickest available flight out of the country.  Then everybody said “we should have listened to M!” – let alone that day after the meeting – I was the loneliest person on the face of the earth with even my peers colleagues turning up against me! I felt like sinking into the ground – and became so sick and had to go early back home!

Nobody had asked me to this day.  Why I was so sure or convinced that there would be a war?.  You may ‘call it gut feelings’, but I think it was more intelligence, sense and reason related – because you do not issue ultimatums to ‘powerful (bully!) figures’ like Saddam – and expect him to follow it!

Then this Third Gulf War.  At our usual Friday family gathering, again I was the sole person who said ‘there is going to be a war’ and we had better be prepared for it!

Again one or two of my family members (this time, as no longer working – Early Retired, Voluntary that  is!) ‘There he goes again war-mongering – if he says it, it will happen!’ (Somebody should shut him up – unsaid!). The war came again, as I had predicted.

Again it was a question of ‘intelligence, sense and reason’ prevailing.  It was not a question of ‘weapons of mass destruction’ (WMD) – it was simply and smugly put – a question of removing ‘the threat of Saddam rule’ in Iraq. Threat to whom? That is still a million dollar question!

Nobody noticed the small print at the bottom.  ‘Even if, Saddam will leave, the ‘Allied’ Forces would still go in! Or I think it was Qusay, son of Saddam who had ‘admitted that we did have WMDs before, but not anymore’.

They always say in wars (or near wars) the first  casualty is the ‘truth’ and all that goes with it!

Another comparison between the 1st Gulf war and this one, at least on ‘circles’ I know well – that is my friends peers and family!

In the First Gulf war, members were split between those who supported removing Saddam from Kuwait by force and those who did not support the war option but rather by talk, persuasion and coercion’ methods.

This time though some may not be too keen on Saddam, but they were all against it with no exception, including the kids who are favourite of  Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pepsi and Cola, Showtime, Orbit, American films etc. Of course do not forget the Dodge Durango (and previous Pontiac Bonneville) parked outside the villa!

This should be very ‘telling’ on the ‘Allied’ Forces what peoples in the streets think – , including the so-called vast silent majority’!

……. Rest is history!

QED – I rest my case – with all happening around us now – 13 years after The Iraq Invasion!

End.

The original book was published on around May 2003 in Oman by Al Nahda Printing Press.

Surprisingly, despite several books later – there is still a large following who still think that this was my Best Book! I would not know – but surely it was My First Book! Compiling all my articles in my columns then Between Us Only! And At My Workplace in The Oman Daily Observer!

You can still find this book still in many offices in Oman – and that is really touching to me as The Author! The other day my brother in law MYS was ‘scolding me’ that I should have translated this book into Arabic – instead of the book Arabic – Behind The Wheel! – www.createspace.com/4875352  He is one of my most advertent Reader and fan!

As there are only few copies left circulating around, I thought it fit to preserve the works by redoing the book! I was debating to add pictures and images – and to sort out by topics – but in the end decided to try as best as to add some images in! The aforementioned were ‘the usual pointers and complaints’ mainly raised on the book. The first book was sponsored by The MB Group of Companies and carried their Corporate Logos.

Many of the articles talk of increasing extremism, fundamentalism – of plain evil etc. – and the tear and wear – the breaking up of The Society Fabric! 13 years later – The Truth arises – and what is most astonishing (shocking!) is that most of the things I had said and predicted then had come to pass! And still folding – and as prevailing relevant too – to date!

It was always my dream to redo the book on my own! Today that dream has become a reality! I hope you will enjoy reading the book again of past memories – a sense of Déjà Vu!

Despite strong temptations, I decided just to stick to make the book as best same as The Original version! I have used the book image of The Sequel book as front cover for this one – because honestly I did not like the previous one of boy whispering to boy – and thus an opportune time to redo it!

Tell me what you think!

Best wishes and regards,

Majid Al Suleimany

<strong>Please Help To Support Our Children! Our Autism &amp; Special Needs Children!

A       The Television Cartoon Series – Dubai – UAE!</strong>

<strong>Abû Hurayrah relates that Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever removes one of the hardships of a believing soul, Allah will remove from him one of the distresses on the Hereafter.

Whoever solves someone else’s problem, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter… Allah is ever assisting His servant as long as that servant is helping his brother.” [Sahîh Muslim (4867)]</strong>

<strong>I was watching these cartoon TV programmes beamed by Dubai Sama TV</strong> and they are always my Top Watchers – especially in The Holy Month of Ramadhan Fasting! By Fanar Productions, a leading production company specialized in animated content, and Etisalat, the main sponsor of the seventh season of Shaabiat Al Cartoon.

Haider Mohammed is the creator of the cartoon series Shaabiat Al Cartoon in Dubai UAE! From humble beginnings in his cartoons – he is now a famous and well-to-do UAE personality! That all comes from The Dubai Ruler personal involvement to see UAE talents are encouraged and promoted with material support and assistance – something we can all learn here!

Shaabiat, a word that means “rural neighbourhood” in Arabic, follows the lives of a group of families and individuals living in a small Dubai neighbourhood. There are 24 characters from countries throughout Africa, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. Each episode focuses on different individuals and their quirky troubles.

At the centre of the series, acting as anchors, however, are the characters Shambee and Bo Mhayer. The duo follow the tradition of all great comedy partners: they are from different sides of life but need one another to make sense of the world.

Shambee could be the Emirati equivalent of the TV show Married With Children’s classic crank Al Bundy (who was played by US actor Ed O’Neill). Middle-class and disenchanted by his marital life, he is perpetually in search of respect but often falls short of winning it due to his dim-witted ways.
Bo Mhayer is a true Bedouin: his rugged views are formed by the tough lessons of the desert, leaving him both confused by and slightly distrustful of Dubai.

<strong>B The Messenger (Facebook) Message!</strong>

The Message came from a good friend asking me why I was not writing anymore my columns in The Oman Daily Observer – Between Us Only! Also At My Workplace! The columns were killed off in August 2014 by more a ‘technical hitch’ per se than anything else.

I told the guy I have my websites where I now put in my articles and about my books – but that too I have now given up seeing there is no material support nor assistance – but just pain, heartaches and the feelings of being let down, betrayal and wasted efforts and loyalties – and instead getting beatings and fear – and so much hurt and pain – that even I actually cry sometimes by what is happening to me now!

<strong>See my Posts in Social Media recently – Feeling so sad today – even if it is my Birthday! Feeling very sick and still ailing in life!</strong>

So he beseeches me to continue writing – and do it as a good deed in my life to get good deeds from Allah God – for ‘positively highlighting social issues that need more care and attention in The Society – even if the monetary and other support are missing – and you feel left out open in the cold – not only not recognized but also facing extreme hardships and difficulties – and even if people have short memories about you and your achievements (the Dubai Fanar Story!) – but they may have longer memories for other things!

Then he pleads to me – via Messenger – Please write about Special Children – Down Syndrome and Autism – I have a Special Child – she is having Down Syndrome – and I gave up everything in my life to try to give her a normal life and against all odds! It is a wonderful experience even if painful – and here they are now (slowly being) accepted and inter reacting with nature (and Society)!

Last few years back I wrote a personal letter for one friend to a British CEO – where he was facing termination for being habitually late – because he too had a child with severe bouts of Down Syndrome! Whether we like to accept it or not – but these Europeans (Americans) are More Muslim than what we propagate to be – because the CEO was more understanding and compassionate than our own – sadly and tragically too!
<strong>
So let us all learn a bit here! So hopefully there could be more acceptance, kindness, forgiveness, compassion and understanding – especially in this Holy Month of Fasting of Ramadhan! You can always get more information and details in The Social Media!</strong>

Last few months back – we were invited to one family and saw how they were scolding their child with Down Syndrome because the boy spilt some juice on their new carpet new hose! It hurt me so much – and left early from the place!

<strong>AUTISM

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism</strong> are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors.

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are characterized by social-interaction difficulties, communication challenges and a tendency to engage in repetitive behaviors. However, symptoms and their severity vary widely across these three core areas. Taken together, they may result in relatively mild challenges for someone on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum. For others, symptoms may be more severe, as when repetitive behaviors and lack of spoken language interfere with everyday life.

As illustrated by the graph on the left, the basic symptoms of autism are often accompanied other medical conditions and challenges. These, too, can vary widely in severity.

<a href=”https://majidatmyworkplace.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/autism-4.jpg”><img src=”https://majidatmyworkplace.files.wordpress.com/2016/06/autism-4.jpg&#8221; alt=”Autism 4″ width=”247″ height=”273″ class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-3519″ /></a>

While autism is usually a life-long condition, all children and adults benefit from interventions, or therapies, that can reduce symptoms and increase skills and abilities. Although it is best to begin intervention as soon as possible, the benefits of therapy can continue throughout life.
Did you know that …

• Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys
• Autism prevalence figures are growing
• Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the U.S.
• Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average
• Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism
• There is no medical detection or cure for autism
National Institutes of Health Funds Allocation
• Total 2012 NIH budget: $30.86 billion
• Of this, only $169 million goes directly to autism research. This represents 0.55% of total NIH funding.

<strong>SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN!</strong>

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of children with Down syndrome who are being diagnosed as having autism or autistic spectrum disorder. These children are then referred to as having a ‘dual diagnosis’ i.e. two co-existing conditions.

However, it is not easy to diagnose autism in children who already have a learning disability and there is not clear agreement on the numbers of children with Down syndrome who do have autism or features of autism. Some authors argue that the diagnosis is missed because children with Down syndrome are thought to be sociable and, if this is true, some children and their families could be missing out on treatment and services they might benefit from.

Others are concerned that there may be a tendency to over-diagnose autism in children with Down syndrome. This could lead to changed and lowered expectations for children’s progress as well as distress for families.

<strong>One Term, Many Definitions:</strong>

“Special Needs” is an umbrella underneath which a staggering array of diagnoses can be wedged. Children with special needs may have mild learning disabilities or profound cognitive impairment; food allergies or terminal illness; developmental delays that catch up quickly or remain entrenched; occasional panic attacks or serious psychiatric problems. The designation is useful for getting needed services, setting appropriate goals, and gaining understanding for a child and stressed family.

<strong>Minuses and Pluses:</strong>

“Special needs” are commonly defined by what a child can’t do – by milestones unmet, foods banned, activities avoided, experiences denied. These minuses hit families hard, and may make “special needs” seem like a tragic designation. Some parents will always mourn their child’s lost potential, and many conditions become more troubling with time. Other families may find that their child’s challenges make triumphs sweeter, and that weaknesses are often accompanied by amazing strengths.

<strong>Different Concerns:</strong>

Pick any two families of children with special needs, and they may seem to have little in common. A family dealing with developmental delays will have different concerns than one dealing with chronic illness, which will have different concerns than one dealing with mental illness or learning problems or behavioral challenges.

<strong>Medical Issues:</strong>

Medical issues for children include serious conditions like cancer and heart defects, muscular dystrophy and cystic fibrosis; chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes; congenital conditions like cerebral palsy and dwarfism; and health threats like food allergies and obesity.

Children with medical issues may require numerous tests, long hospital stays, expensive equipment, and accommodations for disabilities. Their families have to deal with frequent crises, uncertainty, and worry.

<strong>Behavior Issues:</strong>

Children with behavior issues don’t respond to traditional discipline. With diagnoses like ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Dysfunction of Sensory Integration, and Tourette Syndrome, they require specialized strategies that are tailored to their specific abilities and disabilities.

If those strategies are not developed and used, kids with behavior issues throw their families into chaos and are seriously at risk for school problems. Their parents need to be flexible and creative.

<strong>Developmental Issues:</strong>

Developmental disabilities are some of the most devestating for a family to deal with, changing visions of the future and providing immediate difficulties in caring for and educating a child. Diagnoses like autism, Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities often cause children to be removed from the mainstream, and parents must be fierce advocates to make sure their children receive the services, therapy, schooling, and inclusion they need and deserve.

<strong>Learning Issues:</strong>

Children with learning disabilities like dyslexia and Central Auditory Processing Disorder struggle with schoolwork regardless of their intellectual abilities. They require specialized learning strategies to meet their potential and avoid self-esteem problems and behavioral difficulties. Parents of learning-challenged kids need to be persistent both in working with their reluctant learners and with the schools that must provide the help these children need.

<strong>Mental Health Issues:</strong>

A child’s problems with anxiety or depression can sneak up on parents; problems withattachment may smack them right in the face. Living with a child with mental health issues can put family members on a roller coaster of mood swings and crises and defiance. Parents have to find the right professionals to help, and make hard decisions about therapy, medications, and hospitalization. The consequences of missed clues and wrong guesses can be significant.

<strong>Common Concerns:</strong>

Although every special-needs child is different and every family is unique, there are some common concerns that link parents of challenged kids, including getting appropriate care and accommodations; promoting acceptance in the extended family, school and community; planning for an uncertain future; and adjusting routines and expectations.

<strong>Parents of children with special needs are often more flexible, compassionate, stubborn and resilient than other parents. They have to be.</strong>

Things Have Not Really Changed!

People Are Just Still Misbehaving!

Things Have Simply Not Really Changed!

• Do not bite the hand that feeds you – to end licking the boot that will kick you!
• Maybe you should consider our place. Here we do respect the learned elders like you! – My Books USA Publishers.

Thursday – August 15th 2013.

This week I had tried my level best – and avoided to get embroiled into an argument with one – sorry to say it to those of my friends! – An Indian Top Sales Marketing guy – a Services Provider that I have been using for a number of years. Related to my books distribution in Oman, I have given them good business in the past – and the relationships were to mutual advantages, anyway!

There is no point to continue banging my head against brick walls – and just making it swollen and red in the process! Five years ago, I had formally reported this same guy to his Indian Superiors – and I went so far to report him formally to The Company Owners – who are Omanis – acknowledged and well known family run business. But instead of siding with the customers – and fellow Omanis – they tend to side more with their own staff – even if rude and misbehaving ones too – like this one too!

The person promised to change and behave – but simply has not! He just feels that he is beyond reproach – and nothing can touch him in any way! One would be even excused to think that he may be doing the ‘company’s dirty business’ under the cloak and face mask! In treating even qualified, experienced and professional Omanis with complete disdain and contempt. The mind just boggles of how he treats the Junior Younger Omanis under him.

These kind of things cannot be allowed to continue because always they lead to bigger things – as we have seen lately live on television.

The other day I was seeing this traumatic depressing television news coverage of a young Syrian girl of about 5 years of age – desperately gasping out ‘I am alive’ – leave me alone – unsaid! – As she wanted to cover herself from prying television cameras. It was so distressing and disheartening – to see how fast the girl could grow up in such nasty awful experiences.

We see these things – do we change? The answer is simply – No! Until the next time – if there will be such a chance then!

I then told the person that I am collecting back all my books still with you – and please keep them ready for my collection. What is the use and point, anyway? I have written two books in Management in these issues – http://www.myownmajid.com – and several column articles before! I do not know how long these things will continue – before there is a breaking point?

Perhaps it may come sooner than what we had envisaged! People should not be surprised in this!

In my book theme – A Cry For Help! – Published in 2009 – I had said – Addressing the increased extremism, fundamentalism and lack of forbearance in the working environments…. Growing radicalization of local staff…..Unhappy dissatisfied staff ….bad treatment of staff – especially by some (few) expatriates ….etc! My mistake forgetting to add …and customers and clients too!

Truthfully and honestly sincerely speaking – the problems with us Omanis are that we are very welcoming, respecting and esteeming to ‘The Invited Guests’ in our country – unalike even others near us! The few of them especially feel it is okay for these unruly unneeded behaviours and attitudes – and to in forgetting the famous expression – Biting the hand that feeds you …and ending as proved in many cases – of ‘licking the boot that kicks you’!!

I am not a Political Scientist or Expert – but since last week I have never ever felt so sad in my life ever before – because all the things I have said and cautioned about have come to pass – and I feel so sad, unhappy and miserable to keep saying – I have said it, before! Or I told you so! I tried to say the very same things – diplomatically and tactfully – in my many articles – notably last month – The Role of Advisors! The article can be found here!

Even at the dangers of losing something so nice and good that you had never had before or expected – and something you should strive to protect, defend and let it grow and prosper – the evilness and selfishness in people will just not change – even if they know their actions – or inactions – would lead to what, where and when!

I have worked in other countries in GCC – and I have met many ex worked in Oman expatriates. Though they are getting ‘better salary packages, perks and benefits than what they got here – the one thing that they miss the most – is the ‘warm welcome and esteem’ that expatriates – the so-called ‘invited guests’ – have got in Oman. This particular aspect they missed the most.

Frankly, I have seen it live too being practiced – the opposite of what we Omanis are doing! In my role of Human Resources – I had even protested in ‘defending and protecting’ schemes – and I was rudely and abruptly awakened by those doing these things against the expatriates – Brother – you are not in Oman now! That speaks volumes of what we offer and give here – to say the very least! It eventually even costed me my job!

The main problem is that some expatriates know very well that they will not get the positions and levels they are in now – if they were back at home! They may try to kid and fool – but they are fooling no one – but themselves more! I keep repeating and stressing the word FEW! This definitely has gone to their heads – and have made them contemptuous, proud and conceited.

That is the sad and bitter truth of the matter – human beings as they are in reality!

Conversely, I do not know what we Omanis may do – if we enmasse are to go and work in high influential positions in other places? How we would react, interface and behave?

As Bishop Desmond Tutu was saying to Sir Robert Frost in the interview – I do not hate the individuals who propagated, promoted and practiced Apartheid – because as an African – I do not know what their minds were really thinking? Perhaps if I was one of them – I could be doing the same – or maybe even worse! Wise words, indeed!

May Allah God Protect and Preserve us all – from His Anger and Fury – Amin.

With sincere and due apologies,

The Role of Advisors!

I wrote this article in July 2013 for The Oman Daily Observer in my Column then Between Us Only!

It is really surprising that 4 years later it is still relevant and applicable applying to my own Status Quo and all the things all around us now – especially in regard to Relations between countries after Donald Trump became 45th USA President!

It is amazing, indeed! Please read it – and tell me what you think?

Should you as The Leader The Chairman The CEO use your own conscience to act – or just be led and be used around by The So-called Advisors? Even if under you? Bloody shame!

Should you have proven to your Advisors that you want only good leasing news – and are surrounded by The Same people intent to keep and shield you from people whom you may meet and give you unpleasant bad news – even if is The Truth?

Human beings never cease to surprise and amaze at what they are really capable of – and doing to others – and as if nothing will ever happen to them – because they are fully covered – and have all the protection they need! But are we really sure? Have we read and analysed the situation correctly? Have we compared notes to what happened to others – and elsewhere before all these things?

There is a famous East African saying that when brothers fight – take your plough and go to farm – that is metaphorically ‘Do not get involved!’ – Because when they patch up – you will end as the loser!

There is also the Arabic saying that if my brother fights my brother – I will try to bring them together – and not get involved. But if my brother fights my cousin – I will support my brother. But if my cousin fights someone else – I will support my cousin!

It is also being said that in one ex colonial ruled country, the Dictator was asking his Team of Advisors – that he wanted to reverse the traffic system of the country from what it was now of people driving on the left to driving opposite to the right. He formed a panel compromising several engineers, experts and intellectuals to come up with a concrete and feasible plan on how to do the change. He was driven by bringing change to the ways of the colonial masters.

After several months and follow-ups the Advisors came up to the conclusion that the plan was not feasible due to very high costs in transformation and changes to the traffic layout and infrastructure – and it was a nightmare plan to even think off – let alone to implement! But everybody was scared to tell the bad news to the Dictator – for fear of real heads to roll if one tried to do this!

Advisor 5

Images Advisors – For Demonstration purposes Only!

So they drew lots of who would tell the Dictator. It finally dawned on one Engineer who was distantly related to the Dictator – as a possible way out of the impasse situation. He tried his best to convey the message to the Dictator. Luckily for him the man was in a good mood that day – and he did nothing untoward the messenger of bad news! Then he took the Advisor aside and told him – try to see if we can at least have the big trucks go on the right for now – whilst the rest go on the left. Maybe this can work! The Engineer Advisor was baffled – because this was a sure way of increasing that fast the rate of accidents and fatalities in the country!

There are several cases reported later in history where very bad decisions were made but the Advisors were all impotent and helpless – and in fear and in dread – to advise correctly and ethically – because they feared for their lives’ if they said the truth to the especially draconian autocratic Dictators!

Forgive me for those that really know of the Advisor joke and if I had missed out the punch line! There are many other such Advisors’ jokes – you can Google them! I liked also about the one of the last Advisor who gave the advice to the Dictator of how he could make the whole country happy – though it is usually one group of people making the very same joke about the other group of people always! It started with one Advisor advising The Dictator to throw 20 Unit Notes instead of 100 – so you make 5 people happy instead of 1 etc! Till the last Advisor with 1 unit advising The Dictator to throw himself to the people – and make the whole country happy!

During my career life, I have been fooled and hoodwinked that the top brass were really interested in getting ideas, feedback and research on the aspects, issues and tasks at hand! It was more a front and façade to show off’things were changing and improving’ – and not really find out the real core and real truth of things and the situation per se!

Advisor B

Images Advisors – For Demonstration purposes Only!

I have a very clever family member who always would try to figure out what the boss really wanted – and would make him very happy by giving the same advice back to him. His outlook was – why should I be bothered – if I can get all I want from the situation – and I have lost nothing from the equation? The boss is happy – and I am happy too!

Advisor 6Advisor A

Images Advisors – For Demonstration purposes Only

We both gain from the situation – and if anything would go wrong in the plan – or its execution – he would always reiterate that he had given the boss a choice of options – and it is the boss that had opted for this one! Remember boss? The boss cannot deny it – because they usually only remember his own preferred option – and he had conveniently forgotten the other options – or even if they had been made in the first instance!

Then when things have turned out wrong and sour – the boss has only himself to blame – because of listening to his own advices – but coming out from another person’s mouth – which is all in reality that he had wanted in the first place – but was using all kinds of cover and disguise to get at it!

Advisor 4

I said this in my column years back! As kids we used to be that much scared of our father – that even one day he was reversing the truck into a coconut tree – and we dared not to shout at him to stop! Even though we were all sitting at the back of the truck – and we were most likely to be hurt in the process! Our late father got out from the truck – took a look at the slightly dented American Ford truck – and for the first time he saw the funny and the humourous part of his own dictatorial and autocratic ways – a joke he kept telling his friends for a long time after! The only thing he asked was – Why did you not tell me?  To complete silence and no answer even!

Advisor 3

In one of the most ugly and vulgar experiences as a Human Resources Consultant and Advisor – we were given names of some staff that we should come forward to ‘volunteer to the company’ as people marked out for release and termination – and a few others for fast development and progression! This came out after we had said we had interviewed most of the Staff – and what were their training and other requirements! Of course, we refused to participate in the sham scam business – and not only were we denied further business – but the payment for the current job was considerably delayed.

In one other incident at another place, we were even asked to give full names ‘of who said what, where and when’ – when we were conducting a Staff Morale (Climate) Survey! The more disturbing part was not that this was asked of us in the first instance – but that as they said – ‘others had consented to this request before’ – and we reiterated we were not like them! That too ended with the business side – with me resisting the urge from others high up ‘to please participate and join with them’ in this!

In one person I sent my books to, he gave the books to his Advisor – If you want them – that is parting remark!

Please keep remembering all these things happened years ago – and I do not know if things have now really changed on the grounds – but I sincerely hope it has!

Take Care!

The Changing Offices!

Between Us Only!

The Changing Offices Syndromes!

Or The Fast Moving Allegiances and Changes!

Or The New Future!

A         The Introduction

As a now fully retired Human Resources (HR) Professional – I have never forgotten my role and responsibility that I represent my Company (and the Management) – even if in default I will go on forward to fight for the employees’ rights – and as part of the HR role, responsibilities and role in professionalism, principles and ethics. In actual fact I personally for one do not see any conflict or contrast between the two roles – but more as complimentary – for the well-being, interests and future for the establishment.

Sometimes you have to take the role of one side to the other as a situation develops – but in the final analysis your ability to balance the roles is what makes you as that successful HR Executive – or not! Even if you know that at the end of the day – you know who is paying you – but you have to think outside the box – look at the bigger picture – because in the end it has to be for the overall well-being and the interests for the company. That is why HR jobs are really difficult, hard and complex – compared to many others – because you become as ‘The Conscience’ of the Company!

This even if some in the senior Management (The Board) do not see it this way – and may even give you colourings and labels like – being the rebel – being short focused – and even as not being a Team Player! If not even worse scenarios like – time he is sent away – or we do not need him anymore!

Images – The Omani Future!

B         The Recent Incident

I was reading this incident of a case of an Expatriate GM being fired by The Company Board by him just receiving an email from The Chairman – and just finding his name in the Press that ‘he was terminated and no longer representing the Company’. I guess that if I was working in this place – my name would have come up next – because in all my career life I have always fought against such abrupt short cut routes – which gives a bad image and impression of the company – and makes other staff feel really worried and concerned – because they will be saying to themselves – if this can happen to such Senior people – what about the rest of us?

Mind you – I do not personally vet for stoppages and strikes as a tool and weapon for people to be heard and to be listened to – but sometimes because the Management had started the abruptness and the short cuts – lack of ethics, principles and professionalism – they should not be surprised at what turns up next – and this mine – I told you so! – has been mainly instrumental in curtailing and marginalising my career and progression – when people willfully and purposely do things to make me mad so I can quit – or if I do not then get hit in other ways!

Like in the last place – my junior assistant being planned to be my future boss – and a peer that I out pass in all aspects and in performance – has already become my boss even! But even there I had hanged on – and who was that guy laughing all his way to the bank – after ‘so-called voluntary early retirement’ – even if the action was in default and inadvertently!

I

mages – Omani Young Girl – For Demonstration Purposes Only!

C     The Changing Allegiances!

In my mind I was saying to myself – this situation will evolve in one way or the other – either the GM will be reinstated – or the whole lots of employees will also be terminated – and that would be to me like pouring petrol over a cinder fire! Especially as the protesting employees are Omanis – and Omani led! Ironically and twistingly – for a reinstatement for an expatriate manager! And why?

Because they said – the GM had made so many pro-workers decisions – and likes to see Omanis being recruited and doing meaningful jobs. Thus infuriating some in the board that had a dim view of the guy – quote – ‘that we have found mistrust. As he was holding governing power in Oman operations, and was in the Senior most position. We had to remove him immediately after we found malpractices – unquote!

Now don’t you find this ironic and funny at the same time? Omanis protesting that an expatriate GM has been given the boot – and at short notice? The pink slip? How many GMs are replaced or moved to higher labels position – but with no holding power or authority – or just made as Advisors – and all his advices and counsels go to file number 13 – the dustbin? But moved there just for image and publicity purposes – or that he does not cause harm and damage to the company in another way – either directly – or indirectly?

I wrote about all these issues in my above books – let alone in my columns writings – and as far as in 2003 – 9 years ago! Starting with losing my job as a second time – this time from a Chinese company that led to my writing passionately and deeply emotionally traumatised in my the first Arab Management book – titled Psychology of Arab Management Thinking!

Last week I received this from a UK Reader – quote – Please go to the website of www.barnesandnoble.com – one of the biggest booksellers in the world – I gave you 4.5 stars out of 5 – and this is what I wrote about your book!

  • A Great Read (4.5 stars)

This book does not only provide a fascinating insight into Majid’s life but also his raw, honest and sometimes eye opening emotional roller coaster career. It is a personal account, and his brutal honesty regarding different nationalities and those of his own country is recounted so well. A lot of clips from his columns but never mind!

I couldn’t put it down. The English, although not perfect (hey, even English have trouble!) is easy to read and paints a picture as though you are there yourself – unquote.

In my book – A Cry For Help! – Even the Publishers had said to me – quote – This book is definitely a forewarning, prophecy and premonition of The Arab Spring troubles. Frankly people should have read your book – because all the tell-tale warning precaution signs were there already – you were just highlighting and pointing them out to the others! Sad and tragic! – Unquote!

In this book I had also written what the British GM had said – When M left the place – the fresh air blowing over the dump heap – had the stale returned – blowing all over again! Poor guy – some in the top did not like it coming from him supporting me – and he too lost his job eventually!

Only ironically this time all the workers – and even the majority expatriates in the machine shop – had switched off the machines – triggering an alarm system in the Head Offices – because the machines were only to be switched off in case of fire and emergency? When the CEO called as to what was happening – he was told – All the employees – including the expatriates – were saying farewell to M! He just curtly replied – okay I understand!

What more can I say now?

Take Care!

Happy and Safe Enjoyable Eid!
